The Citadel

The Citadel is the heart of every clan. It contains the hustle and bustle of resource gathering, otherwise known as capping. Capping is a requirement for our members (it's our only real requirement), and it provides us with many benefits. These include earning XP, providing XP bonuses to Clan Cloaks, and providing updates like Avatars, which in turn confer XP bonuses to members!

New members cannot cap until they have been in the Clan for one week.

Normally, capping Stone and Timber are advised. Capping other resources can sometimes cause issues or degrade the citadel.

I will update the Clan on what resources we need for which advancements -- and why, if people want to know

CPs (Clan Points) can now be earned by capping. Everyone gets 5 CPs each week if they post in the "Cap For CPs" topic after capping. The post should be made with more than 24h left to the Build Tick for verification purposes.

This is the new protocol. Post here or it didn't happen, even if you tell me in game Twisted Evil

I'll post when the citadel resets into a new "build tick"--that's when most people should be either ready or almost ready to collect resources.

Early on, wood + stone are likely to be the highest priority. When I inform everyone of the new tick (lasts a week), I will say which resources are needed (and how many). It's important for us to communicate so that we can improve the citadel. Some resource collection can actually drain upgrades, not just slow progress.

Notes on Metal Ore, Charcoal, and Metal Bars:

Metal Ore: mined at Mine skill plot.
Charcoal: fired (Firemaking XP) at Kiln skill plot. Used to make Metal Bars and, starting at Tier 4, Precious Metal Bars. The Kiln gets more complicated later on, especially at Tier 6 when it has a conveyor belt.
Metal Bars: smithed at Furance skill plot. Costs 3 resources (mine one unit of ore from the mine to produce one unit of charcoal from the kiln, and to smelt one unit of the bars themselves.)

Precious Ore and Precious Bars complicate the Citadel in a way similar to the relationship between Metal Ore, Charcoal, and Metal Bars.

Precious Ore: mined at Tier 4 Mine skill plot. Used to make Precious Bars.
Precious Metal Bars: Smithed at Tier 4 Furnace skill plot. Costs 3 resources. (mine one unit of precious ore; use one unit of charcoal to make a precious bar; smelt one unit of the bars themselves.

If you want to start collecting "higher" resources such as Metal Ore, Charcoal, Metal Bars, Precious Ores, Precious Metal bars (and "higher", please co-ordinate any collection to make sure that we neither miss our upkeep costs nor collect surplus resources that cannot carry over toward future constructions (sometimes it will carry over, but sometimes the amount carried over is limited.

Citadel Location: SW from Falador

Vexillum/Clan Cloak: available in camp outside of Citadel. Vex allows you to tele to Citadel entry portal; it may also be wielded and planted to attract potential recruits. Cloak provides a weekly XP reward after you have capped 3 x in a row (Clan Fealty 3)

The Citadel has its own mini-map with loads of quick teleports. The skill plots are where you cap/get XP. Once you collect enough resources, you can receive a substantial Bonus XP reward from the Quartermaster in the Keep. There is also a bank near the Quartermaster.

Avatar(s): located in middle of Citadel; grant skilling XP bonus (3% if in same world/5 or 6% if nearby) and can give other bonuses. Feed it 300 weekly anagogic orts to qualify for its bonuses. You can either feed it in the Citadel or wherever it is taken. Admin+ can take out the avatar. NO exceptions.

There's a Clan Battlefield, Noticeboard, Meeting Tent, etc., too.

We now have a 2nd Avatar. Please note that we can only have one Avatar in any given world, with the exception that the Citadel can have multiple Avatars working. I am not yet sure if it will work but this could mean we can have both an XP bonus and a gathering limit bonus at the same time.
