2014: Year of Citadel Glory?

Post by Admin on Sun Dec 15, 2013 7:18 pm

We have made some great progress to date, and now that we've reached Tier 4, we need to keep up the momentum. In order to do just that, the new year will likely require some adjustments within the clan. I would like to draw on input from the clan to strategize the road to a Tier 7 Citadel. We need to do the following (for certain):

- recruit members
- actively encourage capping and visitation
- motivate a high percentage of members to cap

We already offer rewards (Clan Points) for capping, and capping has its own rewards (contributes to the clan community, helps toward rank promotions, good XP, bonus XP from cloak, quatermaster, and any avatars). While we may be able to create contests for capping, we've more of less "capped" rewards for capping.

We can still look for ways to motivate people to do it. Surely anticipating updates and focusing on how they will affect us can help. We can up to 3 avatars (all of them can cap for us and give various bonuses to the clan [not just XP bonuses], we can make cosmetic upgrades (including a dragon!) and we can get new skill plots (therefore new ways to gain XP). Maybe we can get into clan wars or other features within the Citadel.

More than likely, as rough 'n' tough as it sounds, we will need to remove members who do not frequently cap (unless they have very good reason(s) for not capping). On the other side we will likely need to do a load of recruiting. Between those two measures I am sure we will make it to the top, but it would be ideal to do it without having to truly grind it out Smile

Please post your ideas and suggestions! Smile

Another idea I have relates to avatar permissions.

Regardless of rank, I may start to remove Avatar privileges of those who do not cap frequently; of course, that goes hand in hand with potential demotions, too.

A more positive idea is to keep basing Corporal+ promotions on fealty 3, so that any and all rank promotions above Corporal will require a fealty of 3, and those who cap infrequently post-promotion could be subject to demotion.

In those ways the Avatar gets put into the hands of more active members who are capping on a regular basis Smile
