Pet Peeves
We all have those things in our lives that are the total bane of our existence and gets right under our skin which makes us cringe -- pet peeves!
Post up your pet peeve(s). I have quite a few, personally, but the worst of all is the rustling of bags; both plastic and paper bags. The sounds just angers me instantly, don't even know why.

Re: Pet Peeves
One of my cats likes to do just that--rustle bags. Worse, she only does it at night, and that begins as the lights go off. And that means human bedtime. I generally try to put bags away before bed just to avoid this issue. She also tries to scratch mirrors ...
Pet peeves ... because that is bad but for me there are worse ...
Waiting in lines. I can't do it. My wife hates it when I say "fuck this, I'm not waiting in line for this [whatever it is]". Time is important and while it's great to "waste it" on things we enjoy, for me it's pretty much sacred. Time wasted is time lost. I like to acheive things ... I pretty much collect improvements and achievements. Hence how I work, why I moderate @ d2jsp, why I started a guild @ d2jsp, why I started a clan on RS, why I work so hard at basketball & fitness, why I keep an insane diet, why I had scholarships and won sports championships, had to go to the best schools ... it comes down to time and wanting to achieve something--and to give something back. So waiting in line is worse for me than being punched in the face.
Pain. I don't like it, it's a pet peeve of sorts. Anxiety, pain's cousin, is in the mix, too. And so is fear. I hate being afraid. I often do something a bit crazy just to attack a fear, because I don't like being afraid.
People who treat others poorly (on purpose). I hate it. I give peopole time and respect, and as we now know, I value my time a great deal. So people who are basically jerks and who often do not value time and then don't even share time or energy with others, even just to listen or to acknowledge them ...
Excuses. I don't like making them and I don't like hearing them. It's probably partly my bad, but I tend tot hink that people either want something or they don't. If they do, there are no excuses. ofc this trait come sinto play with personal training. I don't let my clients get away with excuses for not trying. It just holds them back.
I sound like a very bitter man here
I'll stop now but I have plenty of pet peeves Mod Mark's bad updates are up there.
And it's funny because I don't like to complain, and yet I do it so well

Pet peeves... Oh man
Fake drawers,
When I go to my friends house and I attempt to open a drawer that has a wonderfully real looking handle on it only to find it's not a drawer at all... It's just a very small, finely handled and sculpted wall! Oh man that grinds my gears! why the hell!?

Re: Pet Peeves
Wow that is bad. I mean it saves money but ... sometimes it saves even more money not to fake something
Now that I have two sons, one of my pet peeves has become going to the fridge or otherwise seeking a snack only to find it missing or depleted. Reaching into a box to grab an enegry bar after a workout only to find that someone gorged on four of them in a couple of hours is just ...
They better turn out to be sumo wrestlers or bodybuilders.

Re: Pet Peeves
People smacking their gum and food ESPECIALLY in movie theaters.
Slurping on drinks when there is no liquids left, just ice.
When you're on the phone with someone and they say "what?" and you have to repeat yourself. Shoot me in the face.

Re: Pet Peeves
Basically same Sean, whenever people eat with their mouths open and you hear just everything drives me nuts. Everyone except for myself and my mother does it, so I am constantly having to deal with it. In the car right now with my sister and she is just so damn loud when she eats...
Re: Pet Peeves
My father-in-law and my sister-in-law complain about the food smacking stuff but I never seem to notice it.
I do know what one or both of my kids are "loud" eaters based on the inlols' complains. Doesn't bug me so I kind of get a kick out of the whole thing
One of my eccentric pet peeves is when I shoot a basketball and it catches my nose on the way up. It seems to happen at least once every shooting session. I asked the best shooter I've ever met (80% from 3pt line in practice, he's a machine) and he said it happens to him. It's a volume thing, it's just going to happen. Fortunately most of those shots go in for me, probably because it adds a little to my focus on making the shot. This is especially true if you're shooting 500 shots in a day At least a few will be really weird.
I've had shots go in and out, I've had shots go around the rim at least 6 or 7 times before going in (or out), I've had shots get stuck between the rim and the backboard (such taste of fail), I've had shots go back and forth between the rim and the backboard at least 3times before going in ... but after a while most of that seems typical.
Bonus material: my record is 16 x NBA 3s in a row. My in-game record is 8 x 3s (college 3s) in a row, but I've hit 7 in a row in-game at least twice. I don't really keep stats on myself but every once in a while I count or I'lll find out what I shot from someone who is recording it. I'm not sure what my record # of made 3s in a day is but this summer I'll be aiming for 200-500+ per pure shooting session.
