Mini-events for Mini-games!
I am taking ideas/suggestions on setting up events for mini-games. The plot is inspired by the experience of running through Fishing Trawler with Jake. There are TONS of mini-games and some of them require groups, so this is a great format for events. Groups make a lot of mini-events more fun.
I think once weekly or perhaps bi-weekly is probably pretty good for frequency, but I'll take suggestions. Fri & Sat are both event-laden (bossing/dung), so we may need to open up another night. Or maybe we could start to rotate the events around. It would possibly let more people do a certain event type, but then it would confuse everyone. Another idea would be to mix it up so that one night is split on alternating weeks between different events (e.g. Fri 1 = bossing, Fri 2 = mini-games, Fri 3 = bossing, etc.).
At this stage we can't dump dung as it has been really successful. 2/3 of the boss events went pretty well in terms of attendance/interest.
There are various types of mini-games as everyone knows: combat, skilling, combat-skilling, and "random" stuff like the Burth games Room. I think we should probably mix it up a lot but also stick to whatever our favorites are. We could probably also fit in some mini-game-like challenges related to some skilling areas like Runespan or the Lava Flow Mine (or maybe not lol).
I will take suggestions and lists of favorite min-games, and hopefully we can assemble something for next weekend. Clan Points will definitely be rewarded. Some of the games themselves have neat rewards.
The idea is to aim for more group-oriented mini-games than solo games. Here are some of mini-game suggestions:
----
Stealing Creations (in w91!): we could have team contests or contests for the most points earned. It's a fun way to kill and steal from your friends! As the clan expands this may be a freuqent event as it allows for big groups and it's skill-oriented with a pvp side We could also keep the runs pvp-free or pvp-free until stuff runs out.
Fishing Trawler: it's fairly exciting for small groups and it gives cool food and decent fishing XP.
Barbarian Assault (5 people)/Soul Wars (large groups)/Castle Wars (Comp Cape requirement)/Mobilising Armies (strategy: ability to imbue rings)/Pest Control (Void gear): all combat-related, all interesting enough to be done repeatedly. They're on the devious side, except Barbarian Assault and Pest Control are completely team-oriented.
Great orb Project (it's confusing at first but it's not bad! Some RC-related rewards, including a Task Set requirement): it's hard to FIND groups for this but we could make them ourselves

Fist of Guthix would be another great addition.
It would help me finally complete my Trickster set.

I am in for Fishing Trawler, Barbarian Assault (especially if you guys let me practice Defender role ), Soul Wars, and Pest Control. I never played Castle Wars, Mobilizing Armies, or Great Orb, but I'd like to try.

Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
Based on feedback so far, this is a "go"!
I will try to stir something up either Friday or Sunday to start these up. I may miss Friday night (which is alternately Bossing night) due to a basketball game (it's a BIG game and I will be playing assuming I get over a little injury I have atm ... or I should say, I'm playing anyway unless it gets worse).

Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
I'm all for this! I like almost all of RuneScape's minigames, and most of them also have great rewards. I think this will also be a good opportunity for more experienced players to help teach people that are new to the game, as a few of these are hard to join if you don't already know what you're doing. I haven't played all of the minigames yet, but I'd like to do so!
As for when we play, I'd like to suggest Sunday afternoons (EST). Alternating with the bossing nights works, but being Friday nights, people probably have enough spontaneous events that they're only able to attend about every other week anyways. (Just guessing here, based on my own schedule.) Sunday afternoons probably won't work well for our Oceanic players (is that a correct term?), but should work well for most others.

Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
I will try to get something started tonight at around 930 PM (EST). It's last-minute, and that may affect which game is "nominated" to play. I'd like to play Fishing Trawler but it would required 3-5 people. So that will be Plan A. I'll append 5 CPs to this event for any participants
Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
I'm down for this aswell, but once again can only attend if it's atleast semi EU friendly.

I think we can just run mini-games at any point on Sundays and give a total of 5 CPs per person who engages in a team mini-game with clan members. That way it accommodates more people.
This Sunday may be low-attendance due to the Superbowl. I'm skipping the Superbowl just because I followed NBA basketball instead of any any sports since the fall.
Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
Superbowl Sunday messed us up last weekend, so we can try again. Fishing Trawler is the order of the day!
Not sure when I will be online: a bit now, but more later on in the evening

Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
Good work I will reward the CPs for this. Although this event got started several weeks after the TDC list started, I will count it into the current week, which makes it a week 8 event (for record-keeping purposes)
Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
After bonus XP weekend, I would like to re-instate this event in the upcoming weekend.

We could try out the new Heist mini-game!

We've had some ideas circulate for the next event but this is probably the winning idea. As a clan, we can help each other explore new content
Fists of Guthix and Mobilising Armies have also been suggested for this weekend so they may be "due" in the next few weekends.
Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
Personally I would like Barb Assault or Heist. Bonus XP for Agility and Thieving are high priority for me since both skills are click intensive.
Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
Let's try Heist on Sunday.
We can shortlist the following for the next week based on member feedback:
Fists of Guthix
Mobilising Armies
Barbarian Assault
-somewhat sure Koire would want Soul Wars
-I like Fishing Trawler, but we've done that already and I can duo it; may try soloing sometime and report back

Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
Jake, Matt & I attempted Heist.
It's tricky but interesting Jake will receive CPs (adding later) -- added. It's fun. Takes patience and a keen eye--or hand!

Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
That was fun! Just found a Fast Heist FC, though if you're aiming for maximum bxp/h.

Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
What mini-game shall we be tackling today?
I vote for Barbarian Assault, personally. Need more Agility bonus exp.

Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
BA would be good, how many do we need?
I suppose there is a BA world.
I may be late getting back tonight; unsure but any duo+ clan mini-game work tonight will count toward CPs. BA is the suggested mini-game.

Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
We would need 5 people for Barbarian Assault, which I am not confident we will hit given our previous attendance.
e/ Promised my parents this morning I'd sit down with them tonight and watch a movie. Might not be on until 11pm or so.

We are so lame!
Gonna do a workout with Nat in a sec; that will make me late as we start about now.
Any Admin+ can fire up mini-games. It's still a good clan event so I want to keep trying with it.
Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
Maybe these events should be arbitrary. Sort of like the never ending dung event: we could have ongoing mini games that we randomly organize. Like I am looking for a BA group to run with to get a ton of Agility bonus exp.
Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
We could do that; if an Admin hosts or witnesses, a max of 5 x CP could be awarded to someone weekly for mini-game involvement The participants would need to be listed here, should be duo+.
Thoughts?

Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
Yeah, this sounds like a good solution. Personally, my Sundays were pretty free when this was initally set up, but have since gotten busier.
It also might work best to start threads for the mini-games that require a more specific group (like BA), so that people can plan on doing it ahead of time. It's hard to get people to join you in anything when they're in the middle of a boss trip, etc.

Re: Mini-events for Mini-games!
I like the idea of sticking with BA until we can get a big enough group for it
(Every week is BA until we can get it done lol)
We can always count any duo+ mini-game toward weekly CPs, though.

Let's see how Week 14 fares:
- post if you have done clan duo+ mini-gaming
- post if you want to try BA on Sunday
