Friday Night Bossing & Saturday Night Dungeoneering

Hopefully this topic will start a tradition! For now these are the proposed dates/times for Friday Night Bossing and Saturday Night Dungeoneering:

NA (930 PM EST/-5 UTC) - Friday = bossing; Saturday = dung
EU (930 PM UK time/UTC/GMT) (this equals 430 PM EST) - Friday = bossing; Saturday = dung

Here are the "rules":

Boss Runs::

- share drops equally among anyone in the clan who is in the boss room (coinshare/lootshare/whatever system)
- the boss is chosen by the host but every other week MUST be "accessible" (e.g., Bandos, KBD ... something where low combat characters won't auto-die)
- alternative boss runs are welcomed for higher-tier combat characters, but the HOST for the night must allow anyone to join
- host decides the space capacity for the run (5 is the minimum limit unless the game doesn't allow more)

Dung Runs:

- anybody can join but if a run "fills" then a second run can start (dung has a natural capacity limit)
- dung floors are complexity 6 for the main run unless everyone agrees otherwise

Here are the "rewards":

- apart from fun and learning, members who join HOSTED runs (in the throne room or in the dung floor) receive 5 CP if they post in this topic after the run (the host can also keep a tally and post it)
- members who join secondary runs receive 5 CP if they post in this topic after the run (the host can also keep a tally and post it)

Who can host?:

- to be official, the host should be either Admin+ or someone designated the role of an Event Organiser within the clan (this role is like a rank; I will appoint it, usually based on feedback from Admin+)

No Host in a certain week?:

- event cancelled

Vent is a great way to communicate for these runs!!

If there is NO host in a given week, the event is cancelled. This week I will host the Boss run. I'll start gearing up in a few minutes Bandos is my selection.

Dung runs tonight starting at around 9 or 930 PM. I can lead a group through C6 floors. I'm not even close to prestiging so I can bite the bullet on XP

I usually solo dung so I'm not 100% sure which XP settings are best. I'm not really doing it for the XP. I would rather do the group runs as an opportunity to teach and help others get some dung XP

At the rate I do floors we may want to start a "true" never ending list

My plan is to start for 930, but if people need a few mins to finish something up, that's fine. Or people can join as a floor ends. I'm not a stickler about dung -- probably part of why I suck so much at it.

If I'm leading a run I don't really mind if people want to do combat or skills so long as people move to the boss room when the time is right :)It's good skilling XP and if people want to take advantage of it I won't be upset. Elite runs would not be so accomodating, but I won't usually host those. Join em if some other Admin+ hosts? Sure

This felt like a wild, weird success!

I'm gonna give Readie55 GPs too since he wanted to join but we filled up.

I'm interested in either doing Bandos again (allows relatively low combat players as long as at least 2 others are there to balance it)

in trying to do a group Barrows run as a learning experience. I will just ask whoever may be interested at some point around 930 PM EST

I would be down for either, I suppose. Though I am likely going to really be going at the QPC requirements this weekend, so I may be absorbed in that.

If the group is 3-4+, then Barrows would make more sense. Even better, if another Admin+ hosted the bossing event tonight, I'd go on a recruiting spree @ RSOF etc

I may still try to sneak into it, but I really need to get a recruiting night in soon. Once "Cap Watch" has been going for a few weeks (maybe a month-ish), it will provide patterns to help us wean out the completely disinterested.

Another factor for me is that I will probably need to wake up early tomorrow, so bossing may keep me up later than desired

Tonight's bossing event was absurd: 3,475,421 split for a trio on the main drops in roughly one hour

Boss night 2nite: looking to try out Barrows Brothers. I haven't been done there since the updates so it could be ... interesting

Ideally we will get a group down, but otherwise we could have a solo drops contest.

Dung night tomorrow night: aiming for sinkholes + 5/5 larges; the first two weeks were a big success

Going to be doing a lot of Dungeoneering so I will not be able to make it to tonight's bossing run but I will certainly be down for the Dung night.

I went to Barrows (solo) and despite enough lag that I logged out for a few hours, I managed to make a few very easy trips around Barrows. My best reward was a Triskelion key. My first run was a bit misguided: I brought stuff for every part of the triangle. After realizing that it wasn't so hard I came back with melee-only except for some bolts and a crossbow for Akrisae (or w/e his name is). Even that wasn't needed but it does speed up the kill.

I hear that the trio mini-game (Rise Of The Six) features buffed brothers that you must fight all at once. I'd like to try that with some people. For safety reasons the 1st few attempts might best be done with 180+ cmb/high-end gear. I'm pretty sure summons aren't allowed. I haven't read a guide. So hit me up to make an attempt. I don't mind taking someone with lower combat although I'm not sure where the graves will be just yet. nn to set people up for lost gear.

Tonight's EST dung plans:

- attempt sinkhole(s)
- dung for fun, my prestige is a but high so if someone can duo/trio with me at that stage it would be great, but otherwise I will do some lower floors. I'm in the low 40s atm I think. I'll try to prestige for next week. Actually, the more we aim to pre-prestige for this event, the more productive it will be. Note to self: prestige before next Saturday

Matt & I went along but ofc we don't qualify. The first couple of floors gave out massive amounts of XP (prestige ftw) to most of us.

Can someone (Admin+) please volunteer to run Friday's "Bossing" event? This week we can do mini-games instead to test out the mini-game format. If not we can do mini-games or bossing on Sunday, too.

I don't know if I'll be around Friday night due to a basketball game that I am playing for my local area.

Last call for any Admin+ who wishes to host tonight's Dungeoneering Event! If nobody takes the reigns, I shall host.

Ended up hosting tonight. Not too many people partook in the event, I think everyone was busy for the most part.

Participants:
- Im Mediocre
- Code13 (left early, but did a couple floors)
- Blih (left early, but did a couple floors)
- KO (left early, did a floor -- computer was overheating)

That is perfectly acceptable. The way I see it, you would have done more but this was something out of your control. Hopefully things work out with your laptop as well as your desktop in the works.

It's the middle of summer here, and today was also the hottest day of the summer so far.

The wedding went well. Driving home was rough because the lines in the roads weren't visible, pick-up trucks were fishtailing everywhere, and it was low-visibility due to the falling snow. And once I got Nat back home, I had to drive the babysitter home (she lives about 30 mins away in a small town). I can't say it bothered me but I don't feel safe driving under those conditions. Oh, and I believe someone died at the wedding.

But I said it went well and by that I meant that everything else was fun

I am aiming to get a boss night going tonight. Does matter which Admin+ hosts or which boss it is so long as we can get something going. We have some people away and Fridays tend to be a quiet night. Even duo or trio would be good just to get something in

I am actually not a bossing lover myself but I think we have enough people who like to boss to make this worthwhile. Another idea is to keep the bossing tutorial event up instead of this--whatever improves attendance and seems most convenient. I like a weekly set date-time activity just because it is something solid.

May not be able to attend tonight. Currently spending some time with my family at my sister's house. Might be able to jump in belatedly, but don't wait on me. I SHOULD be home in time but our get-togethers sometimes go later than expected. ^^

Dungeoneering night tonight! I am not sure when I will pop in to dung, but I will definitely do a few floors. I will need at least one floor (daily), I did a floor earlier (daily), and I plan to create/join some runs tonight. The timing is the only uncertainty. I may be on a bit late. So if people get started before me, that's fine. It would be cool do get a clan sinkhole (or two) in tonight as well

Haha, that's for darn sure. Got me down to 18 LP
